AFRICAN BUILDING SHOW IN MOZAMBIQUE FOR THE FIRST TIME

The Southern Africa Building & Construction 2004 Exhibition is being held in Maputo, Mozambique during 17-19 March 2004, for the first time. This has already excited the interest of many exhibitors, who look set to make Water Africa 2004 Sub-Sahara one of the best shows yet.

Mozambique, which was subjected to major flooding at the beginning of the decade, is now making big strides forward in improving its infrastructure, including a major UNDP/World Bank water and sanitation program. The water supply in Maputo and other major centers is being privatized as part of this program. Meanwhile in the centre of the country, the UTIP (Technical Unit for Implementation of Hydropower
Projects) is looking to build Mpanda Nkuwa hydroelectric dam.

This makes it an excellent time for the Water Africa Exhibition to be staged in Mozambique, the 15th Water Africa event since the series started in Johannesburg in 1993. This year's Water Africa 2003 Sub-Sahara in Tanzania was so successful that many exhibitors rebooked for Mozambique immediately afterwards.

A water seminar program will as usual be held alongside the exhibition, which will be on the FACIM exhibition site in Maputo. 200 water engineers, scientists and NGO workers attended this year’s seminar in Dar-es-Salaam.

Water Africa 2004 Sub-Sahara is organized by ACE Event Management, the trading division of the UK company African Conferences & Exhibitions Ltd. ACE is also organizing the accompanying exhibitions Southern Africa Building & Construction 2004 and Mining & Electricity Africa 2004.
